I'm very grateful to have been elected a 2016 AAAS Fellow. From the letter I received from AAAS's CEO Rush Holt informing me of the reasons:

Sterrett (Section on History and Philosophy of Science)- For distinguished contributions to the philosophy of science, particularly the study of models and analogical reasoning in engineering, physics, geophysics, and biology and the philosophic basis of the study of natural and artificial intelligence
